IISc go to semis in style

10th January, 2010, IISc Gymkhana Ground, Bangalore: A third consecutive victory ensured IISc the top spot in group-B as they move to the semifinals of the IIMB invitational cricket tournament brimming with confidence. BMSCE had good reason to feel safe after notching up an impressive total of 171/6 in 25 overs. But, IISc chased that down with elan sounding an alarm for their upcoming opponents.

The openers Ganapathi (58 0f 51 balls) and Vikram (61 of 49 balls) did the job for IISc with a stand that looked composed and assured right from the start. The strokeplay from both the batsmen delighted the connoissuers and the T20 enthusiasts alike. There were a few hiccups towards the end of the chase when IISc lost a few quick wickets. But the former and the present captains came together to finish off the game without any further drama.

    I hope you get to know more full names in future (For a player's full name to appear, he has to be the man of the match!)
