What's in a name?

You might not have been much of a follower of the beautiful game. Doesn't matter. Come FIFA World Cup and everyone turns into a soccer fan. Suddenly your vocabulary of player names heads north. Several names have weird spellings and hence people manufacture their own pronunciations. The best I have heard was that of Holland's Wesley Sneijder, 'j' silent. A fellow hostelite possibly mistook him for a Punjabi and called him SneJinder, 'j' emphasized.
